My first foray in oil painting. The 'Spring' series started life at a much darker time. I was in the deep dark throws of January, and painted some dark and creepy 'self portraits'.
After months of gloom, things started to get warmer and life started creeping back into the city. I returned to the murky portraits and totally reworked them bringing new life, new optimism and fresh hope.
The darkness doesn't ever leave, but for a while we have spring and summer to enjoy.
These paintings remind me that 'change is the only constant'.
It's quite fun knowing that there's a creepy little face under those colours.
So these paintings are a little bit of me. If you want to own a small part of my story from 2026, I would love package one up and send it on its one way.
